The Kindergarten Class has been working hard on learning the new schedule and routines of the classroom.  There seem to be a lot of rules to remember but we will get there. This year I will implement the Responsive Classroom Approach. This approach creates a safe and caring classroom community. Ask your child about how we greet everyone in the morning. 

Our first unit in our math program, Growing with Mathematics, is Sorting and Classifying. We started this unit with exploring many different types of manipulatives that we will be using throughout the year. We have been making a lot of graphs and are learning how to share data.   

Learning to hold our pencil the correct way and write our names is also keeping us busy.  We have many students that are eager to learn the “Kindergarten Way” of writing their name.

Our Science Unit will begin with My 5 Senses and then we will learn about Properties-color, shapes, texture, size, etc.
